On June 18, 2024, the North Carolina Department of Labor held a Safety Awards Banquet in Asheville, highlighting the critical importance of workplace safety. Four of our divisions were honored for their outstanding commitment to maintaining a safe working environment, receiving accolades in front of an audience that included many of our valued customers.
HAYNES Heating and Cooling received a 1st-year gold award, HAYNES Electric received a 3rd-year gold award, HAYNES Industrial received a 4th-year gold award, and H&M Constructors received a 7th-year gold award. These prestigious awards were presented because each division achieved a lost-time incident rate in 2023 that was less than 50% of the industry average, underscoring our unwavering dedication to safety. Notably, HAYNES Electric was also awarded the Million Hour Award for working one million hours without a lost-time incident. This remarkable journey began on February 2, 2022, and they reached the one million hours milestone on June 6th of this year. Congratulations to HAYNES Electric for maintaining a perfect safety record for 2 years and 4 months, with the counter still ticking!
Across our entire corporation, we have collectively worked 572,000 hours without a lost-time injury as we strive towards another million hours in 2024. Our commitment to safety has made us the safest contractor in the region. This dedication reflects our priority to ensure the well-being of our employees, partners, and the communities we serve. We believe that a safe working environment is not just a requirement but a fundamental aspect of our operational philosophy and corporate responsibility.
